Job summary:

This role is responsible for developing  analytical solutions that  are geared towards providing insights into   contemporary  issues in Taxation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use advanced analytical techniques and tools ( including Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning)   to provide business insights
  • Determine internal and external Data  sources ( including Big Data  ) and relevant  tools to solve emerging business problems
  • Implement advanced visualization and discovery Develop and update advanced analytics models

Academic and Professional qualifications

  • Bachelors in   a highly quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics Required.
  • Membership of  a relevant Professional Body

Relevant work experience required

  • Three (3)  years’ experience implementing predictive analytics, pattern matching or exploratory analysis, fraud detection & root cause analysis using statistical tools and algorithms.
  • Knowledge and experience in supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques: statistical tests, regression, Experience querying databases with SQL
  • Experience  in use of diverse  analytical tools such as R, python   as well as developing analytics Models 
  • Experience translating Business requirements into business rules / enterprise Data  models
  • Experience in Big Data  analytics.
  • Familiarity with contemporary issues in Taxation

Skills required

  • Proactively scans the environment and Keeps updated  with current  emerging trends in Analytical tools and skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non  technical audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize Data  and develop recommendations. 
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal including effective presentation
  • Proactive, self-motivated and adaptable to team environments
  • Meticulous and with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task as well as work under pressure
  • A person of integrity
