Supervisor – Reporting & Analysis (R&A)

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable, upon successful completion of six (6) months probationary period.

Job Highlights                                 

The jobholder shall be responsible for leading analytics initiatives, designing data-driven solutions, and providing insights to enhance business performance. The person shall work with large datasets, apply statistical models, develop dashboards, and engage with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyse data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform decision-making.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of data before analysis and reporting.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like OAS, Apache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, and QlikView.
  • Update dashboards and reports regularly to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Liaise with business units to gather requirements for analytics and BI solutions.
  • Monitor data quality and integrity, identify and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Work with data engineering teams to improve data collection, storage, and processing systems.
  • Automate recurring reports and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Address technical issues related to BI tools, data systems, and dashboards.
  • Ensure data analytics and BI processes comply with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Optimize emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics and BI.
  • Recommend and implement innovations to improve analytics capabilities.

 

Person Specifications

For appointment to this job, the candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Business Information technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Membership to any relevant professional body with a valid practicing certificate/license.

 

Demonstrate Technical proficiency in the following knowledge areas:-

  • BI platforms such as Power BI, OAS, Tableau, Apache Superset, QlikView, or Looker for visualization and reporting.
  • SQL for querying databases and manipulating data.
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Creation and management of dashboards and interactive reports.
  • working with structured and unstructured data to uncover meaningful insights.
  • Data analysis techniques and statistical tools such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Diagnosis and resolution data-related challenges.
  • Data governance frameworks, security protocols, and privacy regulations.
  • Metadata management and data cataloging.
  • Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) and big data technologies.
