Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) wishes to notify all stakeholders that KRA is implementing paperless Customs clearance of cargo at all entry and exit points. Customs will perform paperless examination, approval and release of inbound and outbound goods through the Customs systems. This new process commenced in May 2020.
Reducing paperwork during Customs clearance will facilitate transparency, increased tax compliance, simplification of international trade and reduce time and cost of doing business.
KRA is committed to ensuring that the necessary support is availed to facilitate cargo clearance in the entry and exit points. All stakeholders are therefore encouraged to take up paperless cargo clearance.
