Monday the 30th of March 2009 marked the highest number of new taxpayers registered in any single day since the introduction of e-registration two months ago. A total of 823 new taxpayers were registered online bringing the total numbers of taxpayers who have registered online to date to 10,305.
A taxpayer who registered online commended; ‘I never knew it is this easy to register as a taxpayer. I went to a cyber café and registered. Within ten minutes I had my registration confirmed.’ Meanwhile, training of members of professional bodies on KRA Online services commenced on Saturday the 28th of March 2009 with members of the Kenya Auto Bazaar Association.
This was followed by training of members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya on Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st. In addition to training, taxpayers were assisted to download and upload taxpayer services. More such sessions are planned for April to enhance the usage of the KRA Online Services.
