It has come to the attention of Kenya Revenue Authority that tea factories have not been charging VAT on all local sales made to Kenya Tea Packers (KETEPA)

Tea factories are therefore advised that local sales are subject to VAT charge at the general rate of 16%. Local tea sales have never been Zero rated or Exempt under the VAT law.

This communication therefore renders any earlier communication on the matter null & void from the date of this Notice.
