This is to notify all importers of Second-hand Motor Vehicles into Kenya that the following conditions shall apply before document processing through Customs can be effected:

Kenya Revenue Authority shall not accept a Certificate of Export issued by Dubai Police or any other authority as a substitute for a foreign LogBook.

Only authentic original logbooks from country of origin/exportation will be accepted for purposes of customs declaration.

If the logbook is in a foreiogn language,an English translation issued by the respective Embassy, High Commission or a consulate based here in Kenya , must be furnished to the department to authenticate the foreign logbook.

In addition, only the original commercial invoice from the country of origin/exportation,and not photocopy will be accepted.

Only an original Bill of Lading will be accepted.

The Vehicle must meet Kenya Bureau of Standards KS 1515 2000.

Only vehicles which meet the above requirements will be allowed into the country.
