Kenya Revenue Authority wishes to inform taxpayers and the general public that the requirement to affix Excise Stamps on Wines and Spirits took effect on 1st January 2007. Regulations to govern the new regime were published via Legal Notice No.172 dated 29th December 2006.
The companies listed below are authorized to manufacture, import and affix Excise Stamps on Wines and Spirits products. We advise distributors, retailers and consumers to exercise due care when buying Wines and Spirits products and to procure from only those licensed by Kenya Revenue Authority.
Products on which Excise Stamps are not affixed will be confiscated and culprits (including those in possession) prosecuted with penalties of up to Ksh.1.5 million.
