Kenya Revenue Authority would like to draw the attention of taxpayers and the general public to the requirement to affix Excise Stamps on Wines and Spirits which took effect from 1st January, 2007.  Regulations to govern the new regime were published via Legal Notice No. 172 dated 29th December, 2006.

Following the expiry of the 90-day transition period on 31st March, 2007, Notice is Hereby Given that any person found in possession of stock of un-stamped Wines and Spirits will be liable for prosecution in addition to the products being confiscated.

We advise distributors, retailers and consumers to exercise due care when buying Wines and Spirits products and to procure only those products bearing the requisite Excise Stamps.
