Kenya Revenue Authority wishes to inform the public that pursuant to Cap 403 Section 5 Laws of Kenya, they should always perform an official search and get a signed copy of records before purchasing a motor vehicle.

The Authority would however like to notify the public that this copy of Records is not an instrument of confirmation of payment of taxes/or duties. Anyone purchasing a motor vehicle is required to ensure that all taxes have been paid. Kenya Revenue Authority shall retain a lien on the motor vehicle to the extent of any unpaid taxes.

The copy of records can only be issued and signed by the registrar or his authorized officers.
