Kenya Revenue Authority on 29th January 2009 officially launched electronic registration and filing of return (VAT 3) in a function presided over by the Commissioner General Mr. M G. Waweru at Times Tower, Convention Centre, Nairobi.

Since piloting of the electronic registration which began on 5th December 2008 a total of 133 taxpayers have been registered, while filing of returns whose piloting commenced on 18th December 2008 with selected taxpayers in Nairobi witnessed successful beginning.
